Bhootum Bhagaban

Blank Verse 's latest play Bhootum Bhagaban is meeting its finishing touches . It will be premiered in Kolkata in October . A 25 member strong crew is working in tandem to perfect the production . Playwright Raja Bhattacharya is directing the play .

Aryabrata Bhattacharya , Mandira Banerjee , Dipak Mitra , Devdas Ghosh , Prabir Das are playing key characters .

Blank Verse will be staging it's  Nationally acclaimed play Furrut : a theatre for children for the second time in Mumbai on 20th June ,2009 . Previously the play was premiered at Mumbai in March , 2008 to packed audiences . 

The play stars DebShankar Halder , the internationally renowned theatre actor .

The play has been written and directed by Raja Bhattacharya .The play was premiered at Kolkata in 2006 at the Hutch Odeon Theatre Festival at Rabindra Sadan and was staged at National Children's Theatre Festival , jashn-e-Bachpan,2006 by National School Of Drama

Children's Theatre Workshop : "Chhuti"

Yesterday the children's theatre workshop "Chhuti" went underway . This is the first of its kind by Blank Verse . A 6 month long workshop where children will be mastered in the art of acting , music ,singing ,dancing , magic , hand crafts and drawing . The work shop will ultimately culminate into a theatre production involving these kids . The work shop "Captain" Mr. Raja Bhattacharya was happy with the proceedings today ."Applications are pouring in , and we are happy how things are shaping up for us . The kids are our future and we need to nurture them from now on .Their creative spaces have been shunned today ,they need a space , a time to breathe and live in their own way and "Chhuti" will provide that space for them . "

Yesterday in the interactive session with the guardians and the kids that Blank verse organised, three and a half year old Upalabdhi Karmakar stole the show . She is the youngest to join the "Chhuti" wagon and she enthralled the gathered party with a Rabindra Sangeet too!!!

Looks like "Chhuti" is underway in a grand style and as Mr. Prabir Das ,the treasurer of the repertory was mentioning " We may have to start two batches , if the number of applicants  increase further ,already it has surpassed our expectations. "

The young brigade of the Blank Verse  repertory was seen running here and there to comfort the guardians and the kids who gathered for the homely interactive session at the Blank Verse's rehearsal space at Cornfield Road .
